The Spoilt Sausages - Ollie, Penny & Charlie!

This is where you can get to know the real brains behind Ollie’s Petcare – our canine crew – Ollie, Penny & Charlie the miniature dachshunds.

These three little sausage dogs get stuck into every part of our business. Ollie was the black and tan male and the oldest of the gang when he passed in July 2024 at the age of 14. Miss Penny is chocolate and tan and joins us every day on our group walks. Charlie is the baby of our gang, joining us in a whirlwind back in 2019. =)

Charlie also joins Penny on our daily walks and loves exploring under the trees and sniffing out new adventures. She’s a real live wire but very friendly and loves meeting and greeting new dogs & people alike!

Meet Ollie

Ollie the miniature dachshund and the reason we are here! Ollie is a little black & tan sausage dog who came into our lives over 10 years ago! He is our website mascot and many design aspects has been based around him & his cute features.

Ollie has many typical dachshund personality traits and was full of mischief as a puppy. He loved to sunbath in any ray of light he could find as well as chewing up any stray slippers or shows he could get is mouth on. As he grew up he suffered a few set backs through the years and suffered two IVDD episodes with resulted in two operations on his back. He bounced back from these and non of this has hindered his mischievous nature. Even though his mobility has been greatly reduced over the years he still keeps up with his sisters and enjoys nothing more than annoying little Charlie.

Some of his favorite things is sleeping, eating, sleeping and oh eating. He would eat all day if you let him. Any treat, any type of food. Over the ten years we’ve only found one thing he won’t touch – lettuce.

Meet Penny

Say hello to Penny! She is Ollie’s little sister from another mister and also a cheeky sausage dog! Penny joined our family in September 2013 and quickly became the heart of our little canine gang.

She’s your typical little dachshund girl – very cheeky, energetic, loyal and lovable! She loves joining us for daily walks with her furpals as long as they don’t touch her ball. She is ball obsessed. She loves playing fetch and bring the back to you to throw again – all day if she could! After fetch sleeping & cuddles it is her #1 thing to do! She loves a snuggle under her blankets and a cheeky belly rub if she can get it!

She may be a girl but she’s certainly not girlie and has no hesitation bounding into the mucky puddles and racing thought the rain or snow after that ball!

Penny also helps out in our boutique; she leaves the treat testing to Ollie while she concentrates on testing out all the new toys that arrive – she’s our head toy analyst – and she does a pawtastic job!

Meet Charlie

Charlie the miniature dachshund joined our crew in 2019! She arrived in a whirlwind of fun & madness and for a while there we wondered – “What have we done!”

She immediately settled into her new home, instantly claiming the couch as ‘her spot’ and bonding with both Ollie & Penny – much to Penny’s dismay. In truth Penny really adores Charlie and they can both be found curled up together when they think we aren’t watching.

Charlie also joins us daily on our Ollie’s Petcare walks. She loves meeting new furpals and getting to know them – she’s very submissive and just wants to be friends with everyone. She’s full of personality and energy and just loves racing around the park on walks with that big snout getting stuck into everything – even the dreaded fox poop! =(

When she’s not out exploring she loves nothing better than curling up in her spot under a cosy blanket beside her hoomans. She loves her routines, sleep and a sip of tea in equal measures!

Our Dogs Blog too!

Ollie, Penny and Charlie also blog on their own website found here www.ollieandpenny.com. Charlie is a little upset that her name isn’t in the blog title, but she still helps with it – if reluctantly! The blog is a place where our sausages can voice their own thoughts & opinions on topics & products – with a little help from us – their hoomans!

The blog provides an extra platform for Ollie, Penny & Charlie to help support our main pet care businesses – Ollie’s Petcare & Ollie’s Pet Boutique through articles and social posts featuring cute videos, photos & product reviews. It has also been a great source of comfort for us during Ollie’s IVDD operations & the recent Covid lock downs. It has turned into a fantastic supportive community and source of information plus advice for many other pet owners who may find themselves in similar situations.

With their ever growing social media presence on Instagram & Twxtter the sausages have also curated their own line of dapper wear for canines – fleece backed bandanas, bow ties and toys! It’s has been all go for these little doggos over the last number of years! =) Do pop by their blog below and say hello!
