Ollie's Petcare

Frequently asked questions from our shop...

We’ve had quite a few questions sent our way over the last ten years, from sizing to shipping; so we thought we’d gather some of the popular ones here in the hope they can answer any queries anyone may have who is considering shopping with us . If you have any other questions not listed do get in touch with us here!

About Us

We often get called Ollie ourselves but our business is not named after us. Our business is named after our first dachshund Ollie or Olhausen if he is being bold – as in the sausages! I’m Jonathan by the way and there is also the other human, Thomas.

Simply put, yes we are! We are a full time pet care business, 24/7 365 days a year. (…we’ve been looking after your pets for over ten years!) We also have our pet boutique & our sausage dogs blog which keeps us busy!

We are based in Inishowen, Co. Donegal; which is 15 minutes outside of Derry & 30 minutes from Letterkenny. We’re ideally situated to services all localities beside us!

We currently provide three services, dog walking, pet sitting & home boarding. Dog walking has been our most popular service over the last number of years! We offer pet sitting which takes place in your home & home boarding too – which is when your dog comes stay with us.

We currently do not provide any daycare services.

No we do not offer a kennel service. We do however provide a home boarding service. You can read more about home boarding here!

We don’t have ‘facilities’. we don’t provide daycare or kennels, so there are no facilities to be viewed. Our office and home boarding service takes place in our home which is not open to the general public.

All enquiries are to be made via our contact page on our website.

There’s no straight forward answer to this question. It depends on a number of factors at the time. Including your locality, our current schedules and your requirements. We generally provide services to the Ratoath, Ashbourne and north Dublin City areas.

The answer to this is generally no. Unfortunately we can not accommodate last minute enquiries no matter how local you are or how well behaved your dog is. We plan our schedules up to twelve months in advance  for our home boarding so we always advise to book as early as possible. Not to mention there is paperwork  and meet & greets to be arranged with a possible trial sleepovers required.

Yes, we will need to meet with you and your pet before any services take place. This ‘meet & greet’ will take place in your home with you and your pet. It will last approximately 30 – 60 minutes and may include a short walk around your locality. During this meeting we will discuss your pets petcare needs as mentioned in your enquiry as well as getting to know your pet a little better. This meeting is free and will take place when convenient to everyone.

All services are payable in advance. This typically means payments are made in the first week of services beginning. Home boarding services require a 50% non refundable deposit paid at the time of booking.

Currently we prefer payments by Revolut, but we can accept payments via PayPal, Bank Transfer or Cash.

Unfortunately no. We do not take any students on for work experience I’m afraid. For a number of reasons this is not possible for us. We are not insured for the extra staff and we are just not that big a business to have any work for you.

We always suggest trying places like the DSPCA or Dogs Trust who are both great places to get experiences and they always need helpers!
